Pro Bono Work
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

Pro Bono Work

Giving back to the community in which I live and work has always been an important part of my architectural practice and philosophy. It has many rewards, but paramount is the knowledge that my contribution, along with others, will help make our community a better and more attractive place to live and work.

These efforts have sometimes been directly involved with local architectural projects. Three examples include:

  1. Helping a community non-profit group save and restore a historic schoolhouse to be used for much needed community meeting spaces.
  2. Providing architectural feasibility studies for another community non-profit art group hoping to transform a dairy barn and farmhouse into artist's studios, offices and gallery.
  3. Designing a permanent picnic shelter in our community park to be built by a local non-profit charitable organization.

Other professional contributions include serving on our local Beautification Committee as well as on local and regional Architectural Review Boards. It has always seemed appropriate that my passion for creating beautiful solutions would not be confined to my private clients alone.
